The Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008 started a revolution in cricket. Cricket was one among the very few global sports which was played mainly at the international level rather than club level. With the emergence of IPL, along with the affinity of the audience for T20 cricket, a number of franchise-based tournaments emerged in a lot of countries.

The different tournaments have enhanced the skills of players in the shortest format of the game. One of the most defining factors of franchise cricket has been the performance of batsmen.

It might be owing to the familiarity of playing at similar venues year after year or some extra freedom gained from not representing the national team, plenty of batsmen have gone on to amass massive scores in franchise cricket. Scoring truckloads of runs, they also have smashed a number of tons as well.

Let us have a look at the number of centuries scored in all T20 leagues across all their seasons: –
